Mount St. Benedict Monastery celebrates 100 years

This past Sunday, on Good Shepherd Sunday, Sisters Beverly Raway and Danile Lynch visited Mount Saint Benedict Monastery in Crookston for their Centennial Celebration. Mount Saint Benedict is a daughter house of St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth and a founding member of the Federation of Saint Gertrude.

Pictured here are Sister Susan Rudolph (Prioress of St. Benedict’s Monastery in St. Joseph, Minnesota), Sister Beverly Raway (Prioress of St. Scholastica in Duluth), Sister Shawn Caruth (Prioress of Mount Saint Benedict), and Sister Virginia Evard (Prioress of St. Benedict’s Monastery in Winnipeg, also one of our daughter houses).

Pictured with this beautiful tapestry of the Good Shepherd are Sisters Danile Lynch and Beverly Raway of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth.

“Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts, and incline the ear of your heart. Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice, that by the labor of obedience you may return to Him from whom you had departed by the sloth of disobedience.”
–St. Benedict of Nursia, The Rule of Saint Benedict
