Dear Friends of McCabe,

In my beginning is my end, in my end is my beginning”.

T.S. Elliot was very aware of the circle of life and so am I as we journey into a new year.  Economic crisis, unemployment, and war have brought deep pain to millions in the year 2009.  What would it take to make 2010 a year of healing and hope?  How do we find light in the midst of darkness?  Where do we turn for guidance in times of discouragement?

The answers to these questions are deep within us.  They are held by the God who longs to set us free, the God who dwells in our hearts and has promised to never abandon us.

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.  Those who have lived in a land of deep darkness – on them light has shown.”  Is. 9:2

The God who lives within us is the light.  This gift is wrapped in love; a love that casts out fear, a love that sets us free, a love that keeps reminding us we are not alone, a love that calls us to healing and hope.

Our programs this winter and spring will offer opportunities for healing and hope.  We invite you to spend some time at McCabe and to join us in praying for healing and hope for ourselves and the world around us.

May God bless you and your loved ones with deep peace and much joy.

God of hope, come!
Enter into the lives of all those I hold dear, the ones whose lives are marked with pain, struggle, and deep anxiety, those whose lives bear ongoing heartaches, those whose difficulties threaten to overwhelm them with helplessness and despair.  Come and gift them with a deep belief about you and your never-ending faithfulness and companionship.

God of hope,  come!
Be the Morning Star in our midst, the Light that can never go out, the Beacon of Hope guiding our way to you.  Come into our midst and make of our lives a home, where your everlasting goodness resonates with assuring love and vigorous hope.
