Monastic Life

Hospitality

We are a Monastic Community of Benedictine Sisters who live according to the Gospel and the Rule of St. Benedict. We strive for a balance of communal and private prayer, work, and leisure in our lives. Through our diverse ministries we are committed to helping create a more just and compassion-ate world.

Christ tells us "Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, so you do unto me." If we listen, we hear the call to be open to one another, to give what we have and to welcome all guests as we would welcome Christ. This means everyone, and, as a Benedictine, it means everything. We must truly share whatever we have.

"Hospitality became the pillar of all I did as a teacher and health care professional--trying to treat each student, patient, co-worker, and those with whom I lived with openness and hospitality."
