How to Join Our Community

Volunteers

We Sisters sincerely value all the many ways you assist us. You pray for us, and we ask that you continue to pray for both our ministries and our monastic lifestyle. You contribute through generous gifts for our Benedictine work. And you volunteer your time as drivers, reception desk attendants, and companions to infirm Sisters. You help in many ways, and we welcome your involvement as both participants and benefactors as you join in our Benedictine life.

The Monastery is blessed with lay volunteers who:

  • drive Sisters to and from appointments
  • add joy to the lives of our elderly Sisters by visiting them on Benet Hall
  • welcome guests and callers by serving at the Information Desk
  • enhance our liturgies with their musical talents
  • serve as cashiers at Monastery Books and Gifts

"Life has been good to me and I want to give back to others. I believe that I gain more from volunteering than I give. I enjoy being with the Sisters—it lifts my spirits."

"Driving the nuns is a favor re-turned to the many women who served the Church in developing a Christian environment in our diocese. They continue to offer us—the volunteers—much in their continued Benedictine prayers."
—Bob Senta, volunteer driver
