Response to Recent Gun Violence

As we learned of the gun violence this weekend in El Paso and Dayton, the Sisters joined their prayers with those rising up around America and the world. We pray for those who died for the injured and their families. May they know comfort, healing, and peace. We recognize that prayers rising up to heaven are not enough. We need a rising up of action to protect our people from harm. Increased police presence is not enough. We need legislation to remove access to automatic weapons. We urge our citizens to rise to action. Sign the petitions that come, attend the vigils, call for action from our legislators. Support those who support a change to prevent further harm.

“Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts, and incline the ear of your heart. Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice, that by the labor of obedience you may return to Him from whom you had departed by the sloth of disobedience.”
